Dual Technology (PIR/Microwave Detectors)
Dual technology detectors use two different detection methods within the same detector. The detector will only signal an alarm condition when both detection methods are triggered within a preset time.
Dual technology detectors are useful in situations prone to false alarms e.g. conservatories where the ambient temperature can approach body temperature or higher. This can cause problems with infra-red detectors. The addition of the microwave element helps alleviate this.
