Heat and Smoke Detectors
The detectors listed below are specifically designed to integrate with intruder alarms. Smoke detectors are designed to (obviously) detect smoke but will also detect other particles such as cooking fumes and as such are not recommended for use in kitchens or other areas where ionizable particles are present - Heat detectors should be used. There are two types of heat detector - Rate of Rise and Fixed Temperature. The Rate of Rise detectors will signal an alarm if the temperature at the detector rises at a rate greater than approx. 3° centigrade per minute. The fixed temperature detector alarms when the temperature reaches the preset temperature.
Several units may be connected to one zone on the control panel. The detctors have a status LED and test button. The detectors are powered from the alarm control panel and require a 4 wire connection.
